爱的真谛对婚姻生活的指导意义：

一、爱是坦诚。从前你们是独立的个体，生长在不同的家庭，有不同的个性和生活习惯。现在你们藉婚姻要学习过共同的生活，你们要坦诚的对待对方，既要活出真诚又要尊重对方，彼此以诚相待。多沟通，多商量，达到同心合意、坦诚处事待人。避免自私自利，半心半意的对待彼此。

二、爱是给予。爱人就要把自己最好的给予对方，而不只是索取。上帝爱世人，以致把自己的独生子耶稣给予了我们，并且为我们在十字架上受害牺牲。这爱是给予，是把最有益与生命的东西给予他们。在婚姻生活中，你们若深爱的对方，正如你们以上对方的宣誓那样。这样你们的婚姻和家庭生活必蒙上帝的赐福。

三、爱是接纳。世上没有完全人，人或多或少都存在着缺点和不足。因为我们在上帝面前都不是完全人。故此，学习接纳也是一种尊重上帝创造的美德，是学习丰富生命意义的功课。在爱中接纳对方，不仅接纳他（她）的优点和可取之处，也要接纳他（她）的缺点和不足。正如上帝在我们还不认识他之前就先爱了我们，接纳了我们一样。

四、爱是奉献。《圣经》提到“爱是永不止息”。这永不止息的爱是不断奉献的爱，是不计得失的爱，是源远流长的爱。这样的爱只有具有奉献精神才可以做到。婚姻生活不是占有对方，不是奴役对方、不是牢笼对方，乃是为对方付出自己，贡献自己、甚至是为对方舍己。只有明了爱是奉献，爱才能永不止息。
